L&G Acrobatic Squad

Some of our gymnasts from our different squads have joined together and are currently practising a routine to 'Hairspray' which they will be performing at the World Gymnaestrada in Switzerland July 2011.

The levels are :-

Acro Levels:

Prep A & B pairs
Grade 1, 2, 3 & 4 pairs & groups
11 - 16 world age groups
12 - 19 Junior F.I.G.
16 + Senior F.I.G.

Tumble Levels:

Regional A.B.C. & D
National Grade 1, 2. & 3
Elite Grade 1,2,3,& 4


F.I.G. Internationals levels

Junior 11 -16 years,
Senior 16 years plus,
Out of age 12 - 19 years.

There is a National finals every year for Prep levels and a National Grade Finals at Stoke-on- Trent for all Grades in Pairs, Groups and Tumble's. The British Championships and the British Open Tournament is held every year for world age groups and F.I.G. levels.


Our club competes up to Grade 4 level, and 11 - 16 world age. They are also competing up to Elite 3 tumble level. At the moment all girls and boys do both tumble and Sports Acro, but the gymnast normally choices to specialise in one or the other at International levels.

L&G Acrobatics started to compete at Acrobatic Gymnastics approximately 8 years ago, until June 2006 we were known as Bagshot Gymnastics Club. We are a British Gymnastics recognised club within the South East Region. Our Gymnasts have won many medals at County and Regional levels.

Alistair Rice, age 13, is both Regional and British Champion within the '12 -15 years National 1 Men's Tumble', and National Grade 1 men's 12 - 15 years British Champion 2006
Charlotte Kay, age 15, came 6th in Britain at the '15+ National 2 Women's Tumble'.
Sophie Huntley, age 13, and Vitoria Davis, age 11, came 13th in Britain in the 'Grade 1. Women's Pairs'.
David Miles and David Stout, age 12, came 7th in the 'Men's Grade 1. pairs'.
James Schofield, age 12, and Katherine Schofield, age 10, came 17th in the 'Grade 1. Mixed pairs'.
Sports Acro is a friendly and disciplined sport. The gymnast has to learn to rely, trust and work with their partner or partners. They need to support and help each other. They also need to work with different gymnasts of different ages and abilities as the partnership will often change annually in the earlier years.
